Match reports & we need to talk about Arthur

16 Apr 2013

Gentlemen,

It was a great weekend for the club, with OWFC and OWFC2 winning 4-1 at Malvern and 3-1 at Harrow respectively. Ludicrously overwritten match reports from me and a Flaherty/Guest collaboration are available on the website (fixtures pages) as well as our Facebook and Twitter homes. I recommend you give them a read.

More excitingly, this is a reminder that Saturday is Arthur Dunn Cup Final day. You are very much invited - details below. Charterhouse are the current galacticos of old boys football, running away with the premiership, undefeated all season and will start as hot favourites. And yet...

Not only will there be a number of current OWFC club players and friends in attendance, GB and Taro have been in touch with some of the 1961 AD Cup winning side, and six of that team are planning to attend. If that doesn't make you well up a bit, you're probably dead inside. To whet your appetite even further for this tie, there'll be a couple of extra pieces put on the website and social pages this week to get you going. These include but aren't* limited to:

  • OWFC Skillz Academy™ - Our star players show YOU how to perform their signture moves
  • 1961 AD Cup Final memories - Gordon Baker, an unused substitute that day, shares his recollections
  • OWFC top trumps - impress your friends with our cut out and keep play set

Final Details:

3pm: kick off at Imperial College Sports Ground
5pm onwards: collect trophy and repair to
White Swan in Twickenham.

Hugs,
