More fine margins settled a frustrating day – the O-Dubs created more than other defeats and were unlucky not to score, with Essex hitting the post in the first half, and the team looking dangerous when getting into their passing rhythm as the game progressed, with Matt Black, George Herring and Mike Hodnett showing spells of creativity in between the lines.
A deft chip in the 1st half put Lancing ahead and they held on as an onslaught in the final 20 wasn’t good enough for the Dubs. A few six-pointers these next few weekends, with Old Salopians, one place below the Dubs, up next on Saturday.
