Foresters 2-0 OWFC 1s
OWFC went out of the Arthur Dunn Cup in the first round to an experienced Foresters side who ground out a close 2-0 victory, in a competitive and open game.
Strong performances from Nick Opfermann up front and Alex Dawkins at the back helped the Dubs compete without a host of players from their victory over the Etonians the week before, and for the period either side of half time the Dubs were on top, Matt Black orchestrating creativity in the hole.
Prichard hit the bar and Opfermann struck against the keeper in two chances at 1-0 down in this period, before Foresters got a goal with 15 minutes or so to go to close out the tie. Focus was always going to be on the league for the Dubs and we can be confident of doing better against Foresters next weekend in the league at Whitton.
