After threatening to make a great escape to rival Bryan Robson's West Brom in 2005 or Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth in 2006, unfortunately a 6-2 defeat on Saturday to Old Suttonians in the penultimate game of Division 4 has left the 2s' relegation all but secured given two teams go down to the regional Division 5s each season.
It's been a tough season for the 2s, but two valiant 3-2 wins in recent weeks against 1s teams from Old Rugbeians and Old Stoics saw great performances from the likes of (semi-)newcomers Kaz Fushimi, Antoine Kerck, Rob Selwyn, and household names John Wilson, Gus Morse, Al Hardiman - and many more besides - we can be confident that this will serve as a platform for a stronger season next campaign.
